Egypt strips cameroon....21/01/2010

A.Hassan scored a tramendous winner as Egypt outplayed cameroon 3-1 at Manguela stadium. In a humid weather on friday night 29 January 2010 at the manguela stadium in Angola the two African giants took on each other for the orange African cup of nation's quater final clash.

It was a repetition of the 2006 final in Nideria where cameroon dominated the first half with an immense attacking formation which eventually got broken down in the second half by the Egyptians forwards leading to a grand strike from Mohamed Abutrcker who was the leading goal scorer in the tournament made Egypt win the african cup of nations 2006.

Egypt went into the game as favourites but that changed in the 26th minute when cameroons left winger Emana scored a splendid curve ball ball from the corner kick spot giving the Cameroonians a lead which got a retort from Egypt in the 37th minute. Agmed Hassan scored from a long range blast making it an equal spoil heading into the second half.

the second half had great skill and determination from both sides with Cameroon being more dominant once agian putting extensive pressure on Egypt showing great fortitude to winning however ending the half in a draw that lead to extra time.Egypt not having qualified for the Fifa world cup 2010 in South Africa showed potential but did not live up to its status as the African champions.

cameroon coming into extra time showed fatigue and Egypt in return to end the game victorious. Striker Agmed Hassan in the 92nd minute put pressure on a Cameroonian defender that tried to pass to the goalkeeper and in the process gave Hassan an opportunity to sneak in a winner for Egypt and paralyzing the cameroonian defence completely. an own goal by Cameroon in the 95th miniute by Gedo who tried to clear thhe ball with a header in the wrong direction set vthe game to Egyps advantage to progressing towards the final having to have reached full time at 3-1.
